So the debate begins

Now that I have a shiny new blog, I now need to decide what kind of information I want to put here. I can comment on every little thing I can think of or run across but is my opinion so darn important as to warrant the space even if it is on my own server? I could also just post links, but there are so many decent sites that do that so why should I?

I guess I’ll just let the Spirit lead me and see what happens. Of course, if you have an opinion, please let me know.

  1. Lord knows that I am short on opinion, but I was able to come up with one or two for you:

I have to agree with you about there being no lack of good link-sites (for lack of a better expression), but I still end up posting the ones I REALLY want to keep to my blog, for two reasons – 1) I am always forwarding them to my family and friends anyway, since a good handful do not view the same sites I do or with the same frequency, and 2) That way I have a record of them that will not disappear with the site on which they may be hosted.

As far as what you post, non-link-content-wise (again, for lack of a more complete vocabulary on my part), I would say that blogs are a fantastic venu for venting, appreciating, announcing, grieving, querying, doubting, praising, sharing, *ing. Occasionally discretion is called for – I have removed two different series of posts from my blog since its inception, but two over 4 years is not so bad, and I have yet to be fired or lose a friend.

I, for one, am going to be checking your blog for entries regularly, and will subscribe to your feed as soon as I have decided how to feed myself.
