{"id":2462,"date":"2016-07-17T16:43:17","date_gmt":"2016-07-17T23:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mike.peay.us\/blog\/?p=2462"},"modified":"2016-07-17T21:33:29","modified_gmt":"2016-07-18T04:33:29","slug":"learning-to-fly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mike.peay.us\/blog\/archives\/2462","title":{"rendered":"Learning to Fly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a belated birthday present for our daughter, we took a trek yesterday down to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flytorrey.com\/\">glider port<\/a> in La Jolla for her to participate in a falconry&nbsp;lesson led by Denise and Kirk of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/skyfalconry.com\/\">Sky Falconry<\/a>. It was an absolutely great way to spend a Saturday morning and being an observer of these beautiful raptors is quite an opportunity to learn quite a bit about the birds and the&nbsp;history of working with them. It was&nbsp;almost as enjoyable as being able to interact with them.
